Ode to all pointless….

In the distant past and space a supernova exploded for apparently no reason, sending two photons off the wombs of couple of intimate atoms – The radiant twins were born so. They joined waves of new born corpuscles rushing out to enlighten the universe.

But, as fate would have it, a small ripple in space-time pushed them in different directions – not quite as emotional as twins lost in the cosmic mela, but would have to work for this story.

First photon, you can call him Ram if you want, travelled to the heartlands of India, reflected off a malt of wheat and smashed into the retina of a monkey sucking a mango. Disregarding the destiny of our dear photon who travelled vast space-times, the callous specimen of monkeys, continued sucking the mango… A millennia of photonic life time wasted.

Meanwhile, the entangled twin, you can call him Shyam, if you are a Bollywood freak, raced at a flowering monkey and deflected on to the EM sensor of a lazy corn, idling under the shadow of an Indian elephant, sucking a fruiting bat. Corn didn’t give a damn to the tired traveler and continued its avocation

He just watched it all and rolled another dice of the quantum game.

Why do we like music? An amateur's analysis

Have been listening to a melodious Malayalam song..So captivating...but so is the Korean song - Gangnam style...
Music is beyond languages..It is purely about rhythm...or should I say "Symmetry"?
Why is that humans like music? Let’s take that question - probably many other living things are attracted to music. Stories abound how plants grow better listening to music etc...But let’s try to understand a simpler question...
Why human do’s like music?
I happened to listen to a documentary on people with autistic disorders, but having special abilities in
Math’s or music or art...Couple of these savants were very interesting... There is one savant who is able to do big mathematical calculations by not even performing them consciously...He sees shapes and colors for numbers which eventually merge into a different shape which is the answer to his calculation
The word amazing...doesn’t even qualify to describe this
There is another Savant who is able to play any piano based music he had listened once and there is another blind and mute savant who started playing piano overnight. There are also many savants with amazing photographic memories...
Why is it that shapes, music and math’s come so naturally to us...In many cases it seems like the desire or ability for math’s or music or art is inbuilt into our brains..
There is another savant story- albeit from an article, not from the BBC documentary, about a pair of savant twins. They communicate in numbers and eventually it was noticed that all of those numbers were primes
All these beg the question? Why is that the interest or ability or appreciating for music/math’s/painting built into our system?
Everything any living being does, is eventually a handiwork of evolution.
One thing common in music or math’s or art is the inherent symmetry...in some cases obvious or in some other cases a little less so
So, we seem to be interested to symmetry...But why so?
Probably because we are symmetric!
Almost all the species seem to have left- right symmetry
I read about this in an article...as to why there is left -right symmetry
To understand this, first we have to understand the rationale of asymmetric design in us.

Our top and bottom are asymmetric. For any reasonably fast moving land animal this is the case. Because we need our foot to help us in locomotion and also help us to stand against gravity
So, this asymmetry is an output of gravity and need for movement - i.e., physics and food...two things I enjoy
We also have front to back asymmetry..This is the case of any relatively fast moving animals. We need one end to see predators or preys or to look out for mates (Probably some humans would have wanted eyes at the back also for this :) ). Anyway evolution gave us eyes at the front only,  for this purpose, probably taking into consideration the cost and processing power required in maintaining an eye .So, a tree with no eyes and no means to run,ended up with just the top to bottom symmetry
Now..It leaves us with just one kind of symmetry...left -right...And here, ho, we are symmetric ( at least externally). So are, seems most of the living beings...
Why is this so?
This could be to save the extra coding required in our DNA for building any left-right symmetry. We don’t seem to require any left -right symmetry as there no strong horizontal forces in our planet. Our magnetic forces are very weak to have influences any left-right asymmetry.So, we are left - right symmetric..and hey, this symmetry is beautiful
Many studies have indicated that more symmetric people are thought to be more attractive..Not just by grown up people, who could have been prejudiced by social and other considerations, but by even small babies. Babies tend to look at symmetric babes!
So, love for symmetry is into us...again why is this?
Because - in the end all our likes and dislikes are tuned by a million years of evolution just to pass our genes. That’s the whole purpose of any living being...just survive enough to pass your genes...Raw but the ultimate truth
So, more symmetric implies, a better coded DNA...Better DNA has a better survival chance and hence we love it! So, our love for symmetry is - shall I say an intelligent design of the evolution :)
Hence love and processing ability of symmetry is inbuilt into the brain...
This might explain why we have so much of natural appreciability of math’s or music or shapes..
Not a very convincing line of thought :)

Inferences from Strong Gold Bach’s Conjecture

Strong Gold Bach’s Conjecture is as given below:
e  even number
p  prime number
o  odd number
According to Strong Gold Bach Conjecture,
Any even number >=8 can be written as a sum of two different primes.

Now let’s get into my observations...
Using Strong Gold Bach’s conjecture
Any e = p1+p2, where p1 and p2 are two different prime numbers

Now take any prime number p
2p is an even number,
So 2p = p1 + p2 using Strong Goldbach’s conjecture where p1 and p2 are two different primes

So,

p = (p1+p2)/2

Inference1:

Therefore any prime number can be written as the average of two different primes.

E.g.:
Take 17
2*17 = 34 = 31+3
Therefore 17 = (31+3)/2
This also means that any prime number is equidistant from two some other two primes
This inference shows the uniformity of the primes though they can’t be represented by a single formula

Inference2:

Since p = (p1+p2)/2, using the above inference,
p1 can be a maximum of 2p-1 so that the other prime can be a minimum of 1

From this we can see that if p is any prime, there is at least one prime number between p and 2p

E.g.:
Take p =
31 and 2*31 = 62
Between 31, there are primes 37, 43 etc...

Inference3:

According to Strong Goldbach’s conjecture, any even number
e = p1 + p2, where p1 and p2 are two different prime numbers
But,
e = o1 + o2, where o1 and o2 are two non prime odd numbers
So basically, o1 + o2 = p1 + p2
Hence, suppose o1 = p1 + x, where x is some difference
Then o2 =p2 –x, since, in the end the (p1+x) + (p2-x) = p1+p2 = o1+o2
Hence we can see that
For any two pair of odd numbers, o1 and o2, you have two prime numbers p1 and p2, such that
p1Similarly, there is another group, o1
So, any pair of odd numbers has a pair of symmetrically placed primes

E.g.: Take two odd numbers, say 15 and 57. Here the primes below 15 are 3, 5, 7, 11 and 13. So I just take the differences of this number with 15 and add those to 57, one of them will be definitely a prime.
So 57 + (15-3) = 69  not prime, 57 + (15 – 5) = 67  Prime! So the numbers are 5, 15, 57 and 67

Inference4:

There are two primes equidistant from any number!!

According to Strong Goldbach’s conjecture, any even number
e = p1 + p2, where p1 and p2 are two different prime numbers.
So p1 = e/2 –k and p2 =e/2 + k

Hence we can see that this points to the fact that there are two primes equidistant from any number ,as the e/2 can be an odd or even

Eg: Taking a76, we have 73 and 79. Taking 109, we have 79 and 139 and equidistant primes from 109

This is useful if we know all primes lesser than a number N and then we just have to check if the numbers N+(N-pi) are primes, where pis are primes below N

Energy sources

Was just wondering if there are any renewable energy sources not being used effectively...We all know that solar, wind, tidal energy etc are being used to various extents...Sitting at the MCity FC during lunch time, there is a seemingly endless buzzz..100s of people talking, laughing etc...their sound waves being added to produce a sound like the one you get at theh beach...So what if we could convert this to energy?
Use a microphone...convert these sounds to electric signal...rectify that to get dc and use it to charge ur battery...
Might be this dc will be of very low value...but what ever you get free is good :)
Did some research on net regarding this...seems that people are thinking and researching about this....
Noise is one thing which is there all around us..Hopefully someone will change the proverb "Silence is golden" :)

Direct brain communication

This is an offshoot from the previous blog entry

Direct brain communications is something like sending ur brain signals or thoughts directly to someone else...
This will be great...like a movie director having an idea and then communicating that image/video to his actor or the camera man using brain signal...

Probably this can be implemented by having a transmitter and receiver attached to our brain or head ( strong enough to interact with brain )
and then sending this signal to anly place using the normal mobile/ satellite network...

This will be like any normal mobile...We should be able to take only the brain calls we want :)...

Probably we could go to the next level and allow some users to access ur brain thoughts all the time ..without u having to send that implicitly Guess this will be ultimate telepathy...

But this might affect privacy a lot...so privacy settings also might have to be implemented :)

Also probably you could use this equipment in record mode to record ur dreams :) might be useful as people are supposed to have bright ideas in dreams

Interesting idea

When in school i had had an idea of transferring smell from one place to another...The idea was use the smell molecules to drive a turbine to get an electric signalwhich can be transmitted to another place where it can be used to turn another fan to get back the smell !! Bad that i didnt apply for a patent :)

Recently when discussing with my frnd Akash, he told that it would be really nice if we could transfer smell over internet. Eg : If u are planning to buy a perfume, it wouldbe great to smell it before buying rather than falling for the pic of the perfume bottle of the lady advertising it. Obviously transferring smell has its disadvantages/ dangers also ... Imagine some one sending u an attachment with H2S smell :) or worse some terrorist sending a mass mail with poisonous gas

Anyway, looking at the bright side, lets see various options of implementing this:

1)One way would be to send the molecular structure of the smell from the server to the client and the client system having a smell synthesizer using this info to generate the smell molecules. I guess this idea is too far fetched or impractical
2)Another way would be to trigger smell sensation using some other sensations like sound or sight. Not very sure if this is possible. The reason i thought this is possible because most of the senses are kind of overlapping..eg..when u eat apple when having nose block...u dont get the full taste..
So if this is possible, the client user can use an earphone and when he clicks a perfume icon, a sound/image or a combo will be generated which will give him the smell sensation
3)The other way seems to be most possible way. It is to send electrical signals directly to brain ie, the user will have a head cap which will receive electric signals from the server side...These signals will create the necessary smell sensation...Like u get smells in dream without the molecules being present.

The last idea, ie, directly communicating with brain is being researched by scientists..Guess it has lot of possibilities...

You could even transmit touch and other sensations though internet...This might lead some one to strangle you through net :) We might get e-murder cases...Also the horror movie experiences will get much better...

Now the brain communication is such an interesting idea..that it deserves a look in another blog entry

Global warming.....

I attended a session on global warming today...
It had the usual suggestions to reduce CO2 emissions etc...
Being an engineer , i am more interested in quick fixes...
Some suggestions below...

1)White snow and ice reflect most the energy from the sun while dark oceans and land absorbs this energy. This is one reason why the melting ice caps accelerate the global warming...
So one solution is to coat all our outer roofs with materials of similar reflective properties of ice...so that a huge amount of sunlight is reflected back to atmosphere.... :)...So coat every house terrace, all vehicles etc with this material
The idea is simple...create more ice caps :)


Will try to come up with more :)

Invisible man.....

Yesterday i read an article in Indian Express abt the research to make things invisible.I guess there are the following ways to do that..
1)To make the refractive index of the body and that of the surrounding almost same....in this case refraction or reflection wont happen and hence the body will be almost invisible..
Examples are many aquatic life forms like jelly fish etc. Also glass ball in water might be another example
2)Another way is to camouflage the body according to the surroundings.This idea has been used in one James Bond movie.U can get the image behind the body and then display it on the body to be made invisible.
3)The third way is what is mentioned in the paper.. That is make the light bend around u. This is very intuitive...It is as if u arent present there...the light from the bodies behind u also follow the curved path around u and hence there arent any issues...The research guys it seem have come close to making this practical.

But there are a few issues with this invisiblity thing...
If u cant be seen, then it is as simple as u cant see!!!
Let me explain,All the almost invisible aquatic organisms have very black beady eyes.The reason is that for vision, u have to focus light and hence a difference in refractive index is a must...Hence the closer u try to reach to invisibility...the close u move towards blindness..
Even in the case where our researchers are bending the light around u, they are effectively making it impossible for light from things reach ur eyes...effectively blinding u...

It seems that HG Wells was also aware of this fallacy when he wrote Invisible man...but be put this aside to create his story...The actual invisible man according to HG Wells would have been a blind man seen by none!! Pathetic situation...

One work around is :

U can be invisible only in a particular spectrum..something like our Mr India...who can be seen in red light :)...
In this case only a particular spectrum of light is bent around u...or the refractive index wrt to a particular range matches the surrounding...

The guys in the Predator movie seem to have thought abt this...they have made the alien invisible and also have made his vision primitive...something like a night vision in infra red light...

Global warming.....

Was thinking on how to reduce the amount of CO2 in atmosphere....
Mr CO2 is supposed to be the primary culprit in the ongoing case of global warming...
Mr Sherlock Divyanand has the following traps to catch our culprit...
1) More trees will absorb more CO2...but by the time we grow enough trees it will be too late...So we have to use some innovative strategies..
Like...Make plants absorb more CO2...We have to study what controls the rate of photo synthesis and make the planks cook faster..using more CO2...probably some hormone therapy might help :)
2)Heard that some japanese guys have developed a tar which can absorb CO2 etc...probably we will have to use some solvent which can absorb the excess CO2...This isnt easy as the thing to be cleaned is as small as earth's atmosphere

Will try to come up with more ideas...as the prize is nothing but Planet earth

Compression of music

Our ear has a spiral channel which detects various frequencies at various points...
For simplicity, lets assume that the length of the channel is L
Suppose f1 frequency is detected at start of the channel and f2 at the end.
Now, if in a music, f1 comes after f2, within a time interval of L/( speed of sound), then the order of frequencies detected by our ear will be wrong...
But since we dont hear this out of sequence, i think there might be a auto correction or rejection mechanism in our brain.

If the out of sequence frequncies are being rejected by our brain, then we can also do the same to our music files.

Hence we can achieve compression.
We will have to get the time based frequency spectrum of the music,digitize this and pass this through the compressor.

Hear the music of rainbow

What if we are able to hear the symphony of the
celestial dance...listen to the silent gloomy sunset..hear the
ragas created by a rainbow...or the blueness of a sky....
Also..what if we were able to see .. the shades
of a keerthana...see the flashes of an echo...

Sound is basically any vibration which can vibrate our ear drum.
So if there was an animal whose eardrum can be vibrated by electro magnetic waves, then it will be able hear light...
It will be able to hear the sunrise....feel the splashing sound of a light shone at him...hear the hum of a laser beam...

The longest night of my life.

To cut a long story short, if there is one night I will always remember, it will be this night. It was a night like no other night. Whenever I heard the statement "Life hits you in the head with a brick ...” I never knew quite what they meant, but after this night I know what it feels like.

It had been a long day at work, five meetings, six cups of coffee, and never ending lines of code running before my eyes. It was little past 11 PM. It was time to go home.

I thought that I will just run a query on TOAD and get out of the office. The whole day I have been running lots of queries returning millions of transaction numbers ….Felt like I was caught in a Matrix world…

Even the TOAD was too slow after a hectic day of running queries…..

I just pressed execute and waited to see the results…The query slowly started executing…It was printing one transaction number after another….nothing great in that ….I just waited for the query to end….But there was something peculiar in the way the query was executing today…I could sense the strangeness in the air. But the TOAD kept executing the query. Then all of a sudden the unexpected started happening… The transaction numbers were falling out of the output window….I rubbed by eyes…”How the hell cans this happen!!!! Is there some bug in TOAD??”…..Now the numbers were falling on to the Windows desktop….I watched open mouthed….There was a flurry of numbers. I could see big blobs of data struggling their way from CPU towards the monitor…The whole monitor was expanding like a balloon…it was going to burst any moment and going to spill the precious data… There will be chaos …the highly successful Conversion we did is going to be thwarted….our client will have to work using paper and pen again….I prayed desperately… “Please god…save our data…plzzzz”...the balloon kept expanding…and Booom….The balloon burst spilling out the transaction numbers…I tried to cover the hole in the monitor using my body….But still some of them were spilling out…the whole office floor was full of them…They were flowing towards the door…I was being drowned in the flood of the transaction numbers….i couldn't breath, my whole wasteful life was staring at me…I was about to die….One last time…I screamed…”Help…Help…somebody help me….i am drowning…Help…”

There was a pat on my shoulder…. "Sir … sona hai tho ghar me jaakke sona…kyon bhaakki logon ko pareshan karthe hai"…the security guard asked looking at me.

Maybe it was time for the seventh cup of coffee.

Interesting Dream

I had an interesting dream...I am in a war,wearing commando dress,with machine guns etc...like in many hollywood movie...my commander send out the battle cry "We have to fight for suivival...we have to defend till the end"..Next scene is myself defending hard on a cricket pitch :)..and all my team mates shouting.."Keep defending"...Interesting twist in the dream..Guess it gives some idea about how our brain functions...Similar ideas are probably connected to common nodes..So when we are awake..probably there is another part of brain (which deals with commonsense) which controls the flow of our thought...but guess when we are asleep, our thought flows like a free stream through any possible avenue...

I feel that there should be some applications to this also...like...in our truth detecting machine etc...but even innocent people might have cruel intentions which might come out if they are subjected to a free thought flow..
Maybe this is also one reason why when we are completely blank...devoid on any solution...after a nap everything become clear...This might also be why Einstein is supposed to have come up with the idea of Special theory of relativity after a long sleep...Guess only the uncontrolled natural flow of thought could have given rise to such a supposedly weird idea..Probably our thought has to be freed from the control of so called the commonsense which is nothing but the collection of various biases which we absorb during our existence in this society.

Crazy Physics Idea - 6

I rushed home from railway station to check out the status of the India-Pak cricket match. When i reached home the match was over and India had won!!!!!
Now the question is : Would india have won if i hadnt travelled in train?Would india have won if i was at home ?
The common reply is "What crap!!!!!""What is the relation between u and the match???Are u mad""#$%^$%^"
But thinking a little deep,The events "i am at home watching match" and " i am travelling and not watching match :("arent same
They follow a completely different path in the space time.
Consider the case below:
I am at home ===========>Still at home on the dumb sofa =======> India Wins
I am at home ===========>Still at home on the dumb sofa =======> India Loses
I am at home ===========> Whiling my time in a stuffy train =======> India Wins
I am at home ===========> Whiling my time in a stuffy train =======> India Loses
All these event follow completely different paths in the damn eisteinian space timeSo it doesnt make sense that even though i travel through an entirely differnt path in space time,i will reach the same point ,ie, "India wins"If that is the case, then it is pure luck.
Since all different events are existing in the space time,reaching a particular event alwayswhatever the path is not logical...
It is like u blind fold a person and and let him free and always expect him to reachthe far away lamp post.
I will give one crappy example how i travalling in a train can make difference to the match.
Suppose when i am travelling in the train ,the person sitting next to me is talkingto someone watching the match sitting near the sight screen , over a cellphone.Suppose by mistake i push my neigbour and this affects his coversation and in turn his friend moves in the crowd. This might affect the concentration of the batsman and change theresult of the match!!!!!
Bingo!!!

Crazy Physics Idea - 5

Introduction
The space is expanding (in the sense that new space is getting created) according to Big Bang theory. That is why we see big galaxies move away from each other.
The universe is like a huge balloon being blown by the ancient remnant breath of creation.

Now let’s look close at this expanding universe.

What is happening in the space between a nucleus and electron?
Fresh space is getting created there.
Since we haven’t noticed atoms getting bigger, we can assume that the electrons are pulled into their previous stable relative positions with respect to nucleus by the Electromagnetic force...

But EM field can effect only by a maximum speed of the magical c…The speed of light.

So if the space between nucleus and electron has expanded by a small length dx, and if the distance between nucleus and electron is x, then only after a time of approx (x/c) seconds will the nucleus be able to pull the electron back to the stable orbit.

So energy proportional to the energy difference of orbits with radius x and x+dx must be given out by the atom.
The dx is dependent on the rate of expansion of the universe.

Also the rate of expansion of universe is very small...only when the distances involved are huge, we are able to notice the galaxies running away from each other...No one has heard planets running away from each other in solar system.

So the dx must be extremely small and the energy emitted by the electron when coming back to the original orbit must very low frequency.

Just as an after thought: This low frequency must be limited by the size of the universe. Since the largest stable wave possible in our universe has a wavelength dependent on the length of the universe, just like the waves possible on a taunt string.

So…

If we listen closely...we can hear the heart beats of an atom.
A heart beat determined by the relativity governed expansion of space-time and the quantum mechanical Electro magnetic field...

Maybe if we listen to this primordial song sung by the atoms, we may find the keys to unlock the last frontier…The unification of General relativity and Quantum Mechanics.

In this sample calculation, I am taking an atom having a single electron and proton.

Rate of expansion of universe --- r
(Let’s consider one direction .... the line connecting electron and nucleus)
Speed of Light --- c
Planks Constant --- h
Distance between electron and proton --- x
Incremental Increase in distance between electron and proton due to expansion of universe --- dx

Approximately, the time take by the Electromagnetic field to pull back electron will be

Now dx = (x/c)*r (* represents multiplication)

Therefore:
Substituting for dx in (x+2dx)/c,
Time take to pull back the electron will be approximately (x (1+2r/c))/c

So the electron falls by 2dx length.

Since potential energy is proportional to (1/x).

So change in Potential energy or electron will proportional to (1/x+2dx)-(1/x).

That will be approx (2dx/x(x+2dx)).

Substituting for dx as (x/c)*r,

The atom will emit a EM radiation of energy proportional to 2r/(x*(c+2r)) .This has to be multiplied with (q*q/4*pi*E0 approximately 10pow-28)

But for a photon, E = h*f

So the frequency will be proportional to (2r/(c+r)*h)*(1/x). This has to be multiplied with (q*q/4*pi*E0 approximately 10pow-28)

Approximately, the above formula is frequency = (2r/chx)*(10pow-28) *

Now take x as an angstrom = 10Power-10 and
c = 10pow8 and
Plank constant h = 10pow-35
There fore the ratio will come as 2r*10pow9.

The galaxies (3 million light-years) distant appear to recede from us at a speed of 80 kilometers per second. From this we can have

Distance to the galaxy = 3*power (10, 6)*3*power (10, 8)*24*60*3600
= 4.6656E+21

Rate of expansion of universe = (80 Kilometers/second) / (4.6656E+21)
= 1.71468E-17

So rate of expansion of universe is approximately = 10 Power -17

So the frequency = 2r*10pow9 = 2*(10 Power -17) *(10Power 9)
= 2*10 power -8

So wavelength of this radiation = (c/frequency) = of the order 10 power 16.

Crazy Physics Idea - 4

Is there a complete law???An all encompassing law???(Is this law that we call The God)Can this law be ever found???Completely known???Is the knowing of this law called Nirvana??
Suppose there is a planet of Blind people. They have never seen light...Theyinfact cant understand brightness ...they dont know what is luminosty etc....
But one day an in 2000 BBC(Suppose they have a Blind Christ also ...),one blind guys starts wondering why the universe is the way it is...
They already have numbers....for keeping track of "who owes how much"They know that things fall down..(some guy was carrying a big stone and...)They know what is solid ,liquid and gas ....obviously they can feel them...They know what are electric and magnetic forces...Some kid picked up a lodestone
They know sound, they know wind , they know waves etc etc etc
So they go on increasing their knowledge base...
So one fine warm day(They cant see....they distinguish by warmth...)he thinks ...lemme just connect things together....lemme just make a wonderful theory...just like a beautiful intricately woven piece of cloth...Having all the threads tightly woven...So beautiful complex and compact....
Will The lack of the knowledge of light affect him???Just because he is denied a small window of electromagnetic waves , cant he know the ultimate truth??

Initially physics thought in continuous terms...Energy came like a an undivided fluid...But quantum mechanics(courtesy Plank) changed it all...Now energy comes in quantas...everything is quantised...Heisenberg's uncertainity equation is the king...
Good...things are quantised...but wait...what abt the smallest chunk??The quantisation has to end somewhere....there has to be a smallest thing whose size is again linked to the size ofuniverse...Strange isnit it that the smallest thing demands a bigger universe(First article)
Now lets have a look at the smallest chunk....he is continuous!!!!He has to be continuous or the quantisation has to continue....since thishas to end somewhere...the last guy must be continuous.
Now when a thing becomes continuous,what is the significance ofuncertainity principle?Uncertainity principle is a manifestation of the discontinuousnature of physical world...
So below the size of the smallest particle, uncertainity theorem dies!!!!!
Below this size relativity rules and quantum mechanics moves out of the throne..
So what happens at the boundary??
Will we be able to "see" this transition??This could provide us valuable insights into the unification ofrelativity and quantum mechanics

Just think....we are able to get energy out of tidal waves, pick up elecromagneticwaves using antennas...Would it be possible to pick gravitational waves??The gravitational filed is being continuously diturbed by motion of variousmasses....If we were able to pick these waves , we might be able to energy out of themThese waves will be very difficult to pick, since stronger fields likeelectro magnetic fields dominate.Also when we are making a detector for gravitational waves, we have to make sure that it doesnt get distracted by EM field..For this purpose we would have to use a neutral material like neutron rod in vaccumto detect gravitational waves...But there is still a problem that the Strong nuclear attraction between neutronsin the neutron rod might prevent them from responding to gravitational waves
So probably we could try to find the variations of the position of a neutronin vaccum devoid of fields other than gravitational filed...
But still when we try to measure the variations of neutron position, the photons usedfor this purpose might cause disturbances which might prevent us from picking up gravitational waves
But this can also be helpful...in the sense that the photon used for measuring theneutron position will also produce a gravitational wave which will affect theneutron
But again, the collison might be stronger than the disturbance due to gravitationalwave

Consider that the smallest mass determines the world.....Think that space is a just a balloon growing according to the mass...as the wavelength is inversely proportional to the mass (deBroglie's)and for a particle to exist stably, the universe must be atleast as big as the wavelength of the smallest particle...(stationary wave...like the elecron wave in atom)Now suppose this particle is decaying into energy and vaccum,then this particle can only split itself so that the smallestmass is atmost half the size of the previous mass... The idea for this is :Suppose space is also an entity and its growth is also quantized, then the minumum step growth of the space will happen if the particle splits into two...since 2 is the next biggestinteger as compared to 1.
So the space expands according to the whims of the smallest mass...
The left over mass has to become energy (and vaccum ?)...since a smaller mass is not possible at that instant..since universecan only grow that much(its growth is also quantized...).
Now take it in the opposite way....The universe size must have been half when the smallest masswould have been twice the size as it is now...
So going back in time, the entire mass energy and vaccum wouldhave been contained in a single primodial mass...and obivously...keeping in mind the quantum jiggle..which it has to have to obey uncertainity principle, this huge mass with a non zero very small velocity must have a very small wavelength...so the balloon or the space which hold it must also be very small...
Now consider what will happen if the smallest massdecays completely..The whole balloon will burst and condense the mass as itwas before...
But this can happen only after infinite time or if there is a condition where the mass cannot become smaller since the space cant grow bigger...This can happen if when most of the mass has become energyand this energy has spread all over so as to curve the space to restrict its growth....
